An archaeologist, John Prendergast, steals objects and a dancer from a temple in India in 1913, sparking a curse from the priest. Twenty years later, he's rebranded as John Pren, but his past comes back to haunt him when backers of his expedition demand their share of the plunder. As they gather at his manor house, a series of murders takes place, with the victims all dressed in gorilla suits. The police investigate, but the true killer is revealed to be the dancer, Chandra, who has been controlling the reanimated gorilla, Kali, to exact revenge on Prendergast.
