In the 1890s, two lighthouse keepers in New England's remote wilderness struggle to maintain their grip on reality as they confront the eerie isolation and unexplained mysteries of their island home.
A taciturn former lumberjack and a grizzled lighthouse keeper are left alone on a remote islet, enduring harsh conditions and growing resentment towards each other. As a fierce storm sets in, they face hunger, isolation, and hallucinations, leading to a descent into madness.
