Max Bialystock, a struggling theatrical producer, resorts to wooing wealthy elderly women to fund his projects. When Leo Bloom, a shy accountant, reviews Max's financial records, they hatch a plan to profit from a guaranteed flop by producing a play called "Springtime for Hitler".
