A new group of kids, including David, Mac, Saul, Sammy "Fingers", Tarquell, Johnnie, and Hayley, move into the sandlot. When Johnnie accidentally sends a model rocket over the junk fence, the gang must work together to retrieve it, aided by The Retriever, who steals dog tags. Along the way, they face challenges and encounter a psychotic Little League captain, Singleton, and Mr. Mertle, voiced by James Earl Jones.
