A group of outlaws, including Sergeant Foggers and two Confederate soldiers, steal gold bullion and take a hostage. They bury the loot near a desert waterhole. Later, a gambler named Lewton Cole finds the treasure map on a dead outlaw and sets out to claim the gold. However, he's caught by the sheriff, who takes his horse and treasure. The outlaws then attack the sheriff, freeing Cole and allowing him to reclaim the gold.
