Compulsive gambler Sir Giles Staverley loses his estate, money, and daughter Serena in a game of dice to the evil Lord Harry Wrotham. Unable to face his daughter, Sir Giles kills himself. Lord Justin Vulcan, who witnessed the event, takes pity on Serena and challenges Wrotham to a game, winning and saving Serena from Wrotham's clutches.
