George Schneider, a 42-year-old novelist, is trying to move on from his wife Barbara's death after 12 happy years of marriage. Actress Jennie MacLaine, 34, has just divorced her husband and is also looking to start anew. Despite initial reluctance, they're set up on a blind date by friends and are surprised to find a connection. After a whirlwind fortnight, they decide to get married, but Jennie must confront her fears of being hurt if George isn't ready to let go of his past.
