Bonnie Schiffer, later known as Juliet Graham, was born to a family with a unique cultural blend, her father's side being Jewish and her mother's being Episcopalian, with roots in England. Growing up in Fresh Meadows, Queens, Juliet was exposed to both Jewish and Episcopalian traditions, attending a Jewish school and an Episcopalian church.
As a nonconformist in high school, Juliet discovered her passion for acting, taking part in school plays and developing a fascination with the works of Ayn Rand. She went on to attend Queens College, where she studied English literature with a minor in education.
During her college years, Juliet explored her creative side by making her own hippie jewelry, working in a head shop, and applying fake tattoos at a costume store called Royal Rags. She also experimented with various drugs, including LSD, heroin, cocaine, and mescaline. Additionally, Juliet spent a summer studying in London, England.
After an unpleasant experience with a criminal in England, Juliet returned to New York and graduated from college in 1972. She held a series of jobs, including a nine-to-five office position, which she was eventually fired from, and a role as an editorial assistant at Time Life, producing books.
Juliet's involvement in the 1970s swinging scene led her to meet and start a relationship with porn actor Ashley Moore. Moore introduced Juliet to Jamie Gillis, with whom she also had a relationship. Gillis convinced Juliet to appear in her first X-rated film, Oriental Blue, in 1975.
Following her split from Moore, Juliet lived with Gillis for a few years, continued to work in hardcore films, and held another office job, which she was eventually fired from once more. Undeterred, Juliet pursued a career in modeling, appeared in a few mainstream films as an extra, and even worked on her memoirs.
Throughout her life, Juliet has been a true nonconformist, embracing her unique cultural heritage, exploring her creative side, and taking risks in her personal and professional life.
