A young American woman, still reeling from a broken engagement, hops into a taxi and asks the driver to take her anywhere but the place where she ended things. Despite initial hesitation, the driver, Hanna, agrees to take her to Jordan's Free Zone, where she's meant to meet her husband's Palestinian business partner, known as "The American". However, upon arrival, they discover "The American" is nowhere to be found, and instead, a Palestinian woman named Leila offers to take them to the oasis where "The American" resides.
