A young runaway from south east London, Jake, seeks a fresh start at his best friend's house after escaping his abusive mother. He struggles to find a job and muster the courage to ask out Lika, a Muslim girl from his estate. Meanwhile, Jasmine, a sheltered daddy's girl, leaves home to study nursing in London and befriends a young feminist, Olivia. After transforming into a new person, Jasmine's luck runs out and she becomes bankrupt.
