Person Biography:
Elijah Baker, a talented individual from South East London, first discovered his passion for acting at the tender age of 14. He began attending Lewisham Youth Theatre at Catford Broadway, where acting remained a hobby until a few years later.
It was during his secondary school days that members of The Old Vic theatre came to visit, holding open auditions for a play in partnership with The Imperial War Museum. The play, "On The Middle Day," written by Gavin Birch and directed by Matt Wild, was about young men joining the British army in World War 1 and fighting in the Battle Of The Somme. Elijah landed the supporting lead role of "Archibald Cotton" and the play went on to win the Best Heritage award at the National Lottery Awards 2007, with Elijah being chosen to accept the award on behalf of the cast and crew.
Elijah then attended Sylvia Young evening classes, where he met the founder, Sylvia Young, who recommended him to her daughter's agency. His first role as a guest lead in an episode of "The Bill" soon followed, and he has since landed roles in other notable shows such as "Silent witness," "The Sarah Jane adventures," "Doctors," "Injustice," and "Phone Shop."
Recently, Elijah was awarded Best Male Emerging Talent for his performance in "Signs Of Silence" at the Buff Film Festival. His recent credits include "Tango One," "Acceptable Damage," "Dishoom," and "Ethel."
