In Philadelphia, a former US Marine, Max Carver, is in prison for bank robbery. His sister, Julia, a fashion designer, takes care of their teenage son, Steven. Julia receives a postcard from Max in prison, which is the first clue in a treasure hunt he had planned years ago. The hunt leads to the location of the stolen $20 million. Julia enlists the help of Max's old friend, Kurt, who is now a music store employee. As they search for the treasure, they realize that Max's co-conspirators are also after the money and will stop at nothing to get it.
