Jubal Troop, a man found injured on a ranch, is taken in by rancher Shep Horgan and eventually earns his trust. Meanwhile, Shep's wife Mae grows fond of Jubal, but he has his eyes on Naomi Hoktor, who is traveling with a wagon train camped on the ranch. However, Pinky, the former top hand, is resentful of Jubal's new status and tensions arise.
