Lower-Bavarian village police officer Franz Eberhofer is a man who's learned to accept that "feelings always suck." When his girlfriend Susi distances herself, he barely notices. Even the burning down of a neighboring hotel and the murder of an attractive woman from Munich fail to ruffle him. But when a doctor puts him on a strict diet, limiting his beloved meatloaf, he's thrown off balance. Meanwhile, a murder investigation unfolds, involving a new hotel, jealousy, and a cast of suspicious characters. As Eberhofer navigates the case, he must also contend with his toddler-sitting duties and the unwelcome advice of a self-appointed private detective.
