Lines of Wellington

The Anglo-Portuguese army, led by General Wellington, secured a crucial victory against the French forces under Marshal Massena on September 27, 1810.

The setting is the aftermath of a French defeat by the Anglo-Portuguese army in 1810. As the British and Portuguese retreat, they organize a massive evacuation of the territory, leaving a scorched earth behind to deny the French supplies. Civilians and soldiers from all walks of life, including soldiers, women, children, and prostitutes, flee through devastated landscapes, driven by the will to resist the invaders and protect their country. Along the way, they encounter various characters with different motivations, including idealism, survival instincts, and revenge, all converging on the fortified lines of Torres Vedras, where the final battle will determine their fate.
