Meanwhile, Jessica Donovan, a former dancer turned English teacher, is stuck in a dull relationship and longs to let loose. She meets Jake at a school assembly, where he's inspiring students with his motivational speech, and they share an instant connection. Despite Jake's lingering feelings for his former partner Corinne, he and Jessica start taking dance lessons together, and their chemistry grows. They decide to compete in the World Championships of Swing, but obstacles arise, including Corinne's renewed interest in Jake and the pressure to win.
