Catherine Mary Stewart has enjoyed a thriving career spanning over three decades, with a diverse range of projects across film, television, and theater, in countries including England, Canada, and the United States.
As a young performer, Catherine was living in London, where she was studying dance, acting, and singing, when she landed her first professional acting role as the lead in the rock musical The Apple (1980). This critically acclaimed production was chosen to open the prestigious Montreal World Film Festival in 1980 and has since developed a devoted cult following, with two sold-out screenings at the iconic Lincoln Center in New York City.
In 1981, Catherine relocated to Los Angeles, where she secured a contract with the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives (1965),originating the role of Kayla Brady. Concurrently, she was cast in the lead role of Maggie Gordon in the sci-fi classic The Last Starfighter (1984). During her tenure with the soap opera, Catherine continued to find steady employment in films, appearing in a variety of genres, including the cult favorite Night of the Comet (1984),the teen comedy Mischief (1985),and the female lead in the comedy film Weekend at Bernie's (1989).
