The story follows an actor who plays Santa Claus at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, but is discovered to be drunk. Despite being persuaded to take his place, he claims to be the actual Santa Claus and becomes a sensation. However, his claims are met with skepticism by the store's director, Doris Walker, who has trained her daughter to reject fantasy.
