A couple, Frieder and Nina, are renovating their home, but their marriage is troubled. Nina leaves their daughter behind to visit her brother in a remote cabin, and then stays at a sports hotel in the woods. She encounters an old tennis pro and her brother finds her, but she chooses not to return home. Meanwhile, Frieder has an affair with an old flame, who is now their daughter's teacher. Nina eventually returns to the house without windows.
