In the village of Mundasupatti, a superstition has taken hold: photography is believed to shorten one's life and bring about death. Gopi, a photographer, arrives in the village, where he sets up shop and falls for the village chief's daughter, Kalaivani. But their love is threatened by Kalaivani's uncle, who has his own ambitions for stardom.
