Pilots face a treacherous adventure through the Andes, battling unpredictable weather to deliver a vital serum to the heart of a polio outbreak in Rio de Janeiro.

In the 1930s, a struggling airline in South America faces treacherous weather conditions and challenges in delivering essential goods. When a pilot and his wireless operator embark on a perilous night flight, they encounter a torrential rainstorm and ultimately meet their fate. Despite the risks, the airline's director remains determined to deliver the mail, and a Brazilian pilot takes on the challenge. The delivery of a life-saving serum to Rio de Janeiro ultimately proves the value of their efforts, as a child's life is saved. The film ends with a poignant message about human courage and sacrifice.
