In 1976 Argentina, a respected lawyer named Claudio has a chance encounter with a stranger at a restaurant, which leads to a violent confrontation. After the stranger shoots himself, Claudio takes him to the desert and leaves him to die. Three months later, Claudio's life appears normal with his wife Susana and teenage daughter Paula, but things take a dark turn when Susana's friend Mabel suffers a breakdown and her husband reveals that her missing brother, a revolutionary, may have been the stranger Claudio encountered.
