Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood

Scotty Bowers' life is divided into two phases. After World War II, he worked at a Los Angeles gas station, where he began a career as a sexual being for hire, catering to Hollywood celebrities' desires outside of conventional marriage. He never profited from this service, considering himself a trusted facilitator rather than a pimp. This part of his story highlights the sexual needs of straight-appearing Hollywood stars with secret homosexual orientations. His wife, Lois, remained unaware of this aspect of his life until he published his book, which this documentary is based on. The second phase of his life focuses on his current life, where he is promoting his book and living off connections made during his years as a hustler, including owning several houses given to him.
