Morris Bird III's unique scrapbook reveals a life that veers off the beaten path, driven by a singular passion that distinguishes him from his peers.

A teenager's scrapbook typically showcases happy moments with family and friends. However, Morris Bird III's life takes a devastating turn when he's diagnosed with terminal cancer. This all-American kid's only wish is to connect with his hesitant girlfriend, but his journey is complicated by his troubled family. His father, an alcoholic, struggles with self-pity and poor communication. Morris's English teacher encourages him to write, and he finds solace in his passion for life. His best friend, Ben Savage, provides support, while his sister nurses emotional wounds from their fractured family. Morris's mother passed away when he was five, leaving a void that his father struggles to fill. In a poignant scene, Morris's father finally opens up, offering love and a chance for a relationship before Morris's tragic fate unfolds.
