In medieval England, the sheriff of Nottingham schemes to seize the estate of the deceased Lord of Bortrey, while the Archbishop of Canterbury opposes this plan. The sheriff intends to eliminate the Archbishop, and Robin Hood agrees to pretend to assassinate him for the plotters. However, Maid Marion mistakenly believes Robin Hood is the leader of a group of murderers and sets a trap for him.
