US Marine Sergeant O'Hara is tasked with training a group of inexperienced recruits, including the troublesome Skeets Burns, who disrupts the training with his carefree attitude. Burns also becomes a romantic rival for Sergeant O'Hara's secret love, nurse Nora Dale, who is unaware of the sergeant's feelings and is drawn to Skeets' charm.
