Balasaheb Thackrey, a cartoonist, quits his job after his editor asks him to create more popular content, and instead dedicates himself to fighting for the rights of Marathi people. He sees that they are disrespected and marginalized, and starts helping those in need. His actions bring him into conflict with the law and politics, leading him to form the Shiv Sena party, named after Shivaji Maharaj. His ultimate goal is to see a Marathi person become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
