The Daughters of Joshua Cabe background

The Daughters of Joshua Cabe

In this film, a cunning trapper mastersmind a plan to pose as a family with a diverse group of misfits, including a courtesan, a thief, and a pickpocket, in order to claim a valuable plot of land under a peculiar homesteading rule.

In the small town of Colton, Wyoming, Joshua Cabe and his lifelong friend Bitterroot work their homestead together. However, a new homestead law changes everything, allowing settlers to claim land and bringing rival neighbor Amos Wetherall one step closer to taking control of the valley. Desperate to keep his land, Joshua travels to St. Louis to find his daughters and persuade them to return to Wyoming, but they're married in New York. He then "adopts" three young women, Charity, Mae, and Ada, to be his daughters, and they agree to file land claims as his kin. But there's a catch: they must live on the land for at least a year. Can these city women adapt to the hard life of a homesteader in the Wyoming wilderness, or will rival neighbor Wetherall and his sons sabotage their efforts?
