In mythical Japan, a tailor-turned-Executioner must find a victim before the Mikado's arrival. He chooses a strolling minstrel who loves Yum-Yum, but Yum-Yum is also loved by the Executioner. A plan is made to execute the minstrel, but the truth about his identity and a betrothal to an elderly woman complicate the situation.
