During the Gulf War, the coalition's unity was imperiled when Saddam's forces targeted Israel. To prevent Israel's involvement and maintain the coalition, the Scud missiles had to be neutralized. A British SAS patrol, Bravo Two Zero, was dispatched to destroy the Scud weapons under the command of Sgt. Andy McNab. The mission was disastrous, resulting in the deaths of three troopers and the capture of four. Only Corporal Chris Ryan managed to evade capture and escape.
