Columbia's 9th serial, between "Overland With Kit Carson" and "Terry and the Pirates", was initially planned to feature Lorna Gray and co-directed by D. Ross Lederman and Norman Deming. The serial combines elements from "The Shadow Magazine" and radio stories, with Lamont Cranston as the true identity of The Shadow. However, the hypnotic invisibility and "Living Shadow" concepts were ignored, and the only invisible character is the villain, the Black Tiger. The serial features a mix of characters from the radio series, magazine, and pulp stories, including Margot Lane, Police Commissioner Weston, Inspector Cardona, and Harry Vincent. The plot revolves around the Black Tiger's plans to take over the city, and Lamont Cranston, as The Shadow, works to combat the villain.
The Shadow
A legendary assassin, Black Tiger, must confront the powerful Shadow, who seeks to dominate the world with a deadly ray and the power of invisibility.
