John Travers, accompanied by his Indian friend Yak, relentlessly pursues the elusive Shadow and his gang. After Sheriff Davis's untimely demise, Travers assumes the role of Sheriff and closes in on the gang by capturing two members, who reveal the location of the secret room where the Shadow receives his orders. Travers then concocts a plan to ambush the Shadow.
