The Leeds family becomes embroiled in a conflict between law enforcement and gangland when they are the sole witnesses to two murders committed by notorious gang leader Maxey Campos. Initially, they identify the murderer, but their perspective shifts when Donny Leeds, a young family member, is kidnapped by Campos' associates. Despite being pressured by D.A. Whitlock to reveal the truth, the family refuses to cooperate - except for the family's cantankerous grandfather, a civil war veteran who is determined to fulfill his civic duty, even if it means risking his own life.
