Dr. Paul Christian hosts a party for 9-year-old Janie Webster, a talented singer, just as her father Bob's life is turned upside down. Accused of embezzlement, Bob is arrested, found guilty, and imprisoned, leaving Janie devastated. As her friends at school inform her of her father's fate, Janie falls ill. Dr. Christian, convinced of Bob's innocence, teams up with his household staff, including housekeeper Mr. Hastings, who uses astrology to solve problems. Together, they embark on a quest to clear Bob's name, succeeding just in time to witness Janie's triumph at the state singing contest.
