Jian-wa Chang, a young man adrift after his brother's passing, embarks on a journey across America's countryside in search of his place in the world. After a fateful encounter with a van driven by two college students, Jian finds solace in the care of a reclusive artist named Megan. But his newfound peace is disrupted by the ghost of his brother Wago, who appears to guide Jian towards acceptance and ultimately, entry into heaven. Meanwhile, the students responsible for the hit-and-run plot to silence Jian before he can reveal their involvement to the authorities. This film serves as a pilot for the TV series, featuring flashbacks from the previous films in the franchise.
