Koichi Sakakibara, a 15-year-old boy, moves to a mountain region to live with his aunt after his father goes abroad. After a pneumothorax attack, he is hospitalized and meets a mysterious girl with an eye patch in the elevator. The girl, Mei Misaki, seems to vanish into thin air, only to reappear in his school class. However, his classmates and teacher act as if she doesn't exist, leaving Koichi feeling uneasy and curious about the truth.
