Billy and his friends arrive in town to find the local Sheriff murdered, with Ed Slade temporarily taking over. When henchmen try to destroy the newspaper, the group takes a stand and fights back. They enlist the help of Fuzzy to run for Sheriff, and eventually extract a confession from Slade revealing the identity of the killer. On election day, with the newspaper destroyed once again, they work to publish a new edition featuring Slade's confession.

A group of friends must band together to take down the corrupt sheriff, Ed Slade, and his henchmen after discovering the body of their friend Hanley, and they decide to start by supporting Fuzzy's bid for the sheriff's office.
