Cold Fever background

Cold Fever

A Japanese executive's trip to Iceland becomes a transformative experience as he navigates treacherous terrain and cultural differences to perform a traditional burial ritual in a desolate region that holds deep significance for his family's past.

When Hirata's grandfather reminds him of his duty, he cancels his Hawaiian vacation to fulfill his family's tradition. Seven years earlier, Hirata's parents died in an Icelandic accident, and Japanese custom dictates that their souls won't rest until proper ceremonies are held. He embarks on a journey to the river where they passed away, facing numerous challenges and peculiar people along the way in this Icelandic-Japanese road movie.
