Gene Autry, a rancher, heads a Cattleman's Association and appoints a young man, Jimmy Agnew, to transport cattle to a meat-packing plant. However, Jimmy is swindled by card-sharps and flees, leaving Gene to make things right. Gene, accompanied by Frog Millhouse, gets a job on a ranch owned by Asa Lock, who is secretly involved with the gamblers. Gene's efforts to prove Lock's innocence are complicated by his daughter's involvement and the gang's attempts to eliminate Jimmy.
