In a world where the dead have taken over, cities and states have been abandoned and left to decay. The remaining survivors have banded together to form self-sufficient hunting groups, fighting in a desperate war against the undead. Among them is Jillian Hurst, a former news writer turned amateur documentarian, who sets out to create a propaganda film supporting the war effort. Joining forces with a notorious group of hunters known as the "deadheads," she captures the harsh realities and moral complexities of fighting a war against the unliving.
