Two young fathers, one of great faith and the other a doubtful cynic, report for duty during the Vietnam War in 1969. Twenty-five years later, their sons, Wayne and John Paul, meet as strangers, and through handwritten letters from their fathers, they embark on a journey to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, where they discover that the devastation of war cannot break the love of a father for his son.
