Kevin Downes, a native of California, hailed from Visalia, a charming city located approximately three hours north of Los Angeles. It was during his formative years in this picturesque town that he began his foray into filmmaking, collaborating with his brother, Bobby, and close friend, David A.R. White, to produce his early cinematic endeavors.
As his career progressed, Kevin's path crossed with that of Jon Erwin, with whom he co-starred in the movie Courageous. This serendipitous encounter marked the beginning of a fruitful creative partnership, as Kevin, Jon, and Andy Erwin joined forces to bring the film Moms' Night Out to life.
Their collaborative efforts did not stop there, as they went on to work together on the movie Woodlawn, while simultaneously developing the story behind I Can Only Imagine, which ultimately became their third feature film as a trio. This successful partnership led to the formation of Kingdom, a production company that secured a first-look deal with Lionsgate for the production of feature films and television series to be released under the Kingdom banner.
Today, Kevin resides in Orange County, California, with his loving wife, Catherine, and their three sons, Benicio, Nathaniel, and Joshua.
