Zac Peace, a recent graduate, returns home to Long Island after his father's death, struggling with depression and uncertainty about his future. He finds solace in mowing lawns for his mentor, Sam, a former publishing genius turned pot-smoking dropout. Zac falls in love with Eastern Grace and expresses his feelings through letters to his dead father.
