Joe Palooka's manager, Knobby Walsh, gets into a series of misadventures after trying to talk his way out of a traffic ticket.

In the third installment of the Monogram series based on Ham Fisher's "Joe Palooka" comic strip, a series of events unfolds through a flashback narrated by Knobby Walsh, Joe Palooka's manager. The story begins with Walsh trying to talk his way out of a traffic citation. Joe Palooka, a heavyweight champion, feels responsible for the death of an opponent in his dressing room and considers quitting boxing. However, the dead fighter's fiancée believes he was poisoned by a gang of gamblers who profited from betting on Palooka. Joe, Knobby, and the police team up to track down the gamblers, but not before Joe narrowly escapes being murdered by a poisoned mouthpiece.
