Victor Shanley, a former renowned District Attorney, had fallen from grace due to his addiction to drinking and workaholic tendencies. After being dismissed from office and divorced, Shanley hit rock bottom, becoming a gutter-drunk. However, he soon regained his status and wealth by working for gangster Al Kruger, who ran a hot-car ring. Shanley's new life allowed him to take revenge on the law enforcement officials he felt had wronged him.
