The success of a new music sensation has more to do with image and marketing than actual singing talent. Producer Robert Deacon, struggling to regain his popularity, discovers Maggie, a talented housewife, at a karaoke bar. He convinces her to lend her voice to a demo tape, which is then dubbed over the debut album of wannabe superstar Sunni.
