Person Biography:
Peter Outerbridge grew up in Toronto, Ontario, with two older sisters and two older brothers. His father, a lawyer, and his mother, a piano student at the Royal Conservatory of Music, came from a family of artists. His uncle, opera singer Jon Vickers, and cousin Billy, a regular at Stratford, were both involved in the arts.
Outerbridge began his acting career after high school, enrolling at the University of Victoria to study acting. He co-founded the theatre group Way Off Broadway and toured Canada for four years before transitioning to television and film in the early 1990s. His early credits include shows such as 21 Jump Street and The Commish, as well as feature films like Paris, France and Cool Runnings.
Throughout his career, Outerbridge has received numerous award nominations, including Genie and Gemini Awards, for his roles in films and television shows. He has worked steadily in a variety of projects, including critically acclaimed movies like Kissed and Better Than Chocolate, as well as the thriller The Rendering.
In addition to his film and television work, Outerbridge has had recurring roles in several TV shows, including The Outer Limits, Millennium, and The Murdoch Mysteries. He also starred in the science-themed show ReGenesis, which aired for four years and was broadcast internationally.
Outerbridge has been married to Canadian actress Tammy Isbell since 2000, and they have two sons, Thomas and Samuel. The family resides in Toronto.
