Gene Autry, a cowboy, is tasked with being the guardian of three mischievous boys after their father's death. The boys arrive at the Barton ranch, where they discover a smuggling operation run by Welsh. Welsh takes control of the ranch and kicks Autry out, but Autry fights back by bringing in three other boys and convincing the judge that they are the rightful owners of the ranch.
