In the midst of World War II, a seasoned Captain Foster assembles a team of elite commandos to infiltrate German-occupied Tobruk. However, a miscommunication leads to the inclusion of a medical unit, which surprisingly features a Quaker conscientious objector. Against all expectations, the team successfully completes their mission, which involves rescuing a German general's mistress, destroying the Afrika Korps' fuel supplies, and engaging in humorous conversations about stamp collecting with Field Marshal Erwin Rommel.
