A young boy witnesses his father's murder by a skilled martial arts master, leading him to become a Shaolin monk and seek revenge. Initially struggling to keep up with his peers, Jackie befriends various Shaolin Masters who teach him different kung fu styles. He quickly improves and defeats the "wooden men" challenge, earning the right to a distinctive haircut.
